Three Weeks of Global Action
The international release of "Who Makes The News?," the GMMP 2005 report containing global, regional and national quantitative and qualitative results in London on 15 February, was followed the next day by the launch of "Who Makes The News?: Three Weeks of Global Action on Gender and the Media", 16 February - 8 March 2006.
Marking the 1 year anniversary of the 2005 Global Media Monitoring Day, The Three Weeks of Global Action featured national launches of the global report and activities relating to awareness-raising on the representation of women and men in the news in over 50 countries that participated in the research in 2005.
Partners in the promotion of Three Weeks of Global Action include UNESCO's Women Make the News Initiative, Amnesty International's Violence Against Women Campaign, Article 19, the International Federation of Journalists, the Media Diversity Institute, The Stanhope Centre and UNIFEM.
